what went down:

 *Almost immediately, a motion was made to change the word “aye” in the voting procedure to    “arg”, like a pirate.*

1.  Pizzas were eaten with a vengance.
while consuming pizza, people mingled and mixed and generally were friendly.
2.  ideas for b dorm.  how can we help them with their funding problem?
 a.  door to door we raised a lot- try again?
 b.  SPASM bach. auction- already done once...again?  or just auction david?
 c.  set guys up
  the setting up of guys is the primary function of spasm.  this must receive the utmost (is that a word?) attention
3.  how can we set guys up (bdorm and otherwise)
 a.  generate list of single dudes and dudettes.
 b.  from list match up people (random or otherwise)
 c.  watch events unfold
4.  a men’s ‘lookin’ good workshop’
 a.  we feel there are near constant workshops on this campus that are not servicing our needs
 b.  after consulting our men’s fashion book (in the gender and diversity center for everyone to use) a workshop on looking good may be in order
 c.  the motion was put forward to have the workshop run by people who know what they are talking about, namely not us.
 d.  Kelsey Harris, Dana, and Mary more or less volunteered
 e.  they were named the committee for men’s looking good awareness
 f.  more from them later
5.  Change oil/tires/basic car maintenance workshop.
 a.  numerous volunteers for putting on demonstration on how to change tires, oil, etc in pal court.
 b.  the motion was made for this to include girls in bikinis on trampolines, discussed, and then tabled for further research
 c.  tenatively scheduled for next month (the car thing, not the girls on trampolines)
6.  a quick assessment of our monetary situation then ensued
 a.  $40 from the SAC went as follows: 5 dollars to make copies, 32 and change went to pizza.
 b.  the 45.40 collected for the beer fund went to beer
7.  movie night
 a.  the purpose of this would be to show ‘guy movies’ on the wall or in sudakoff.  possible movie suggestions:
  swingers
  mad max trilogy
  die hard trilogy
  Planet of the Apes movies
  Shaft
  Alien trilogy
 we could have gone on, but there was no need.  the mad max trilogy is scheduled for next tuesday night.  be there
8.  at 2250 hours many members adjourned to palm court for the post organizational meeting; those who remained went over logistics and things the group could do
 a.  blind date show- find willing participants, set them up on a date (look into places nc students work?).  film the date.  broadcast it on palm court’s wall.  the suggestion was made to fiance the date with sac monies, but that seemed very far fetched
 b.  having a ‘singled out’ wall or something of that nature.  that could be cool.  worry about it later.
 c.  broadcast who is single and contact information.  create some kind of database so people know who is not in a relationship (ladies, Chris Sabattelli is single).  kind of like what robby did earlier this year with ‘robby is good, date robby?’ signs
 d.  bdorm soree stuff.-pay it forward style set ups?  help raise money for their jello pool.  possibilities include carwash and collect marriot money...have a sign up sheet with people’s names, card numbers, and box numbers.  have them personally say that they want X number of jello boxes.  then place the order en masse.
 e.  sensitivity issues- we have sensitivities issues
 f.  Mateo requested help in funding his “clean+dirty party.”  he wants to buy foam machines (@$342) as an investment in fun.  we have no problem with an investment in fun, but that is a lot of money and could not be used in palm court (slippery tiles).  more ideas were put forward on how to raise money.  sell bar-b-que (grill using cars?), a spasm bake sale (consensus was no one would buy anything).
 g.  general activities that could also be fundraisers: cardboard bobsled (a la cardboard regetta.  we provide wheels or something like that) on the pathway to dorstein?  some kind of pay-to-enter bloodsport (little rules, big fun)?  finding a demo job somewhere and going and breaking stuff for money on some weekend?

we continued to discuss these sorts of issues, and what we feel spasm should be.  then we went to palm court.

 a. Spasm Olympics, including BMX jousting, sumo wrestling, lazer  and freeze tag, and kickball.
 b. Spasm Bowling Team, intervarsity bowling debacle. Possible names: Skeletor, Voyager 3, The    Kessel Run, others to be discussed.
 c. Car smashing fund raiser in palm court.
