Neighbourhood Housing Manager - Simon Swift
The Housing Management team are employed by Leeds City Council and are seconded to the Halton Moor Estate Management Board who are the managing agents for the estate. The Housing team deal with all aspects of day to day housing management which includes the following:
- Allocation of council properties;
- Rent collection and arrears recovery: This includes taking payments at the public counter, via a rent collector and taking action against tenants who do not pay their rent on time.
- Dealing with neighbour disputes and anti-social behaviour: This is achieved in partnership with a dedicated Combined Response Team comprising Members of the Police and Tenancy Enforcement Section.
- Ordering of repairs
- Void property management: This includes inspecting properties when they become empty, arranging security, raising the necessary repair work, identifying a new tenant, offering a tenancy and signing up a new tenant, who then have a chance to join the Friendly Society and the Estate Management Board.
The Housing Team consists of, from left to right: Steve Stewart, Estate Management Officer, Mark Appleyard, Maintenance Surveyor, Simon Swift, Housing Manager, Paul Harris, Assistant Housing Manager, Debbie Mosely, Rehousing Officer, Susan Blowers, Clerk Cashier and Collette O'Hara, Rehousing Officer.
The Housing Office is located in the Halton Moor One Stop Centre, and is aided in its every day counter service by the Department of Community Planning and Regeneration. The Customer Service Officers answer the public enquiries with smile and help to promote Halton Moor as a pleasant neighbourhood in which to live.
