(11-12-2001)  General Chemistry is a lot of work.  I have 3 separate assignments a week.  For the lecture I have between 50-100 questions to answer, for lab I have a report to write up each week (so far every 3rd one I have to write up from scratch), and for recitation I have a couple of "Challenge Problems" (which means impossible).  Math is pretty good, it's all online so I don't have to put up with any teachers.  And Writing is pretty exciting, I am researching on why we should breach the Lower Snake River Dams.  Below I have included links to Science shows I like to watch.  Also a links to Nature, and Scientific American magazines.

(September 19, 2001) Looking forward to fall term.  I have completed 4 terms now. This term I will be taking Chemistry 221, Math 111C, Writing 123 (my last writing class), and Computer Science 160 (intro to computer science).  The Chemistry and Computer Science classes are traditional campus based classes, where as Math and Writing are both internet classes.  The summer term I took all distance classes, which was very different, but manageable. I am really looking forward to the chemistry class. (I love science classes)

(summer term 2001)  This term I am taking all distance classes. I will be taking Writing 122, Math 95, Psychology 201, and, Unix 140U (windows is a type of operating system for your computer, UNIX is another very different kind of operating system.  It is kind of like dos but it is for networking, and is a prerequisite for other computer science classes.  It is also a very basic introduction to programming in c.)  Writing and Unix are internet based courses.  I don't even have to go to school to take tests.  Everything is done over the internet.  All the lectures, tests, assignments, etc are done on the class web page.  There is even a message board where you leave messages for the class or other students.  Math and Psychology are telecourses.  And instead of having to watch the programs on cable, I was able to rent the video tapes for the whole term.  I had to go into school 3 times for each class, the 1st time was an orientation, the 2nd time was for the mid-term, and the 3rd time was for the final.  both classes had weekly assignments, however I only had to save the assignments and turn them in at either the mid-term or final.

(before spring term 2001)  I am going to School half time this term so I could work a little more.  This term I am taking: Confidence Building (a 1 credit class so I could bring my credits up to 6), And Biology 213.  I have finished 2 terms and am working on my third.
