Professor Dr.Hani Yehaya Nasri, one of the seekers and lovers of truth who started his academic career as early as 1973 when he published his first book with his mentor Prof.Dr.Kamal Yousef Al-Hajj(killed in the barbaric civil war in Lebanon). The name of the book was Al-Masihan Wa Al-Assabeyah (jouneh,Beirut);in this work Dr.Nasri predicted the civil war on inductive basis through the Arab and Lebanese tribal structure. Expanding this notion of tribal mentality Dr.Nasri wrote his next work at Fordham University in 1978 under the title (the alternative of tribal mentality). He also published in 1979 in Jeddah Al-Majma' Al-Ilmi a book under the title (For the sake of Islamic sociology);followed by expanding the notion of Assabeyah tribal mentality in his book (Assabeyah LaTai'feyah,Dar Al-Kalam,Beirut,1982).Then Dr.Nasri dedicated his whole works to philosophical issues and never came back to social reform problems until 1998 with his book (Zouhneyat Al-Ilga')-the mentality of cancellation-Dar Bahsoun,Beirut). During this period he translated the main works of Washington Irving into Arabic: 1-Al Hambra (Dar Al-Inma' Al-Hadari,Aleppo,1996). 2-Mohammed&His Successors (Al Markaz Al-Saqaffi,Beirut,1999). 3-The fall of Grenada (Dar Al-Intishar,Beirut,2000). Also he wrote an abbreviation of the book Mohammed in English (Dar Al-Arkam,Beirut,1997). His main philosophical works were published during that period, and they are: 1-Metaphysics and reality (Al-Markaz Al-Saqaffi,Beirut,1998). 2-Naqed Al-Ilhad (On atheism) (Dar Majd,Beirut,2000). 3-An invitation to the history of philosophy (Majd,Beirut,2002). 4-Al-Wujud Wa Al-Maout Wa Al-Kulud (Dar Al-Kalam,Beirut). 5-Al-Fker Wa Al-Wai'ee (Dar Majd,Beirut,1998). Dr.Nasri has also two textbooks in English published in Jeddah (Dar Al-Bayan,1981)explaining in details the pragmatic philosophy. Dr.Nasri last publications are: 1-logic (Ministry of Education,Damascus) 2-Methodology (Dar Majd,Beirut) 3-psychology (Dar Al-Arkam,Beirut 2005) Dr.Nasri is a member of the Arab Leaque Writers, and was in charge of establishing the periodical of literature in King Abdulaziz University at Jeddah, where he spent eleven years teaching there, and afterwards he spent another eleven years as a visiting professor in New York. He is teaching now at Arcatech Beirut as a full Professor in Philosophy and humanities. Dr.Nasri is willing to discuss and give abbreviations for the above mentioned books and his main theory about philosophy of destiny that reflects itself in all his works, not as a new school in philosophy, but as environment of thinking that must be highly considered in all trends of knowledge and philosophy in the twenty-first century, and its implications in psychology, sociology, logic, ethic, atheistic(*)and science (*) See,Hani Nasri,Al-hobb Wa Al-Fajia'a (love and catastrophe),Bahsoun Pub.,Beirut,1999. |
