The good ol’ days

Remind me,
When did we drift apart?
When did this wall spring up between us?
I remember a time when
I could talk to you,
You could talk to me,
We were friends.
Or did I just dream that?
Now it seems that there is always something better for you to do,
Like scratch the back of your head
And look confused by the whole situation.
Maybe you too are wondering what happened to us,
To A+E,
To my Bristol accent.
Somewhere everything got lost,
Including a few memories from one day to the next,
And people.
But nobody except me seems to notice.
You never seem to be around anymore,
You never seem to work anymore.
Just stand there sadly shaking your head,
Or snapping at someone whose done nothing wrong.
What happened to the old Charlie?
What happened to the politics around here,
Does do one have any views anymore?
Everyday has turned into a drama,
No such thing as a quiet day.
Murder,
Rape,
Assault,
Drug deals,
Stalkers,
Romance,
Break ups,
And that’s just the staff.
No time for me any more,
This is a young girls game.
No time for you, Charlie,
Max- god knows what’s happened to Max,
Not a word in months.
Or Chloe.
Dropping like flies around here.
It seems if you don’t get your kit off no one gives you a second glance.
The staff get younger and prettier by the day
And, I hate to sound old and jealous but
When do I get a look in, Charlie and me?
Where is place for Duffy in Holby A+E?
In the past, that’s what they think
Not up to it anymore, that’s what they say.
But I’ll prove them wrong,
All of them.
Duffy won’t just go away,
Duffy and Charlie: here to stay.
Long live the good old days…

Only thing to do

Lara got locked away for months when she did nothing wrong
So I stand here and rub my neck
(And shout a bit)
Max was pushed over the edge by Jan
So I stand here and rub my neck
(And shout a bit)
Holly disappeared off the face of the earth
So I stand here and rub my neck
(And shout a bit)
Roxy abandoned her baby
So I stand here and rub my neck
(And shout a bit)
I haven’t seen Louis in months,
No body talks about him either
So I stand here and rub my neck
(And shout a bit)
Duffy got a new man and didn’t think to tell me,
I had to find out from Colette
So I stand here and rub my neck
(And shout a bit)
Members of staff seen to vanish into thin air
And no one blinks an eyelid
So I stand here and rub my neck
(And shout a bit)
Baz, Jan, Duffy…
Everyone I have ever loved, upped and left.
So I stand here and rub my neck
(And shout a bit)
Duffy is still in reach but she might as well be a million miles away
For all I get to see of her.
So I stand here and rub my neck
(And shout a bit)
For what else can a man like me do?
Except stand here and rub my neck
(And shout a bit)
When the world around me is going mad.
Some one has too keep their sanity.
And if the only way to do that is to stand here and rub my neck
(And shout a bit)
Then so be it.
