Hide and seek

See her sitting
Alone in the dark
Little girl locked away
Deep deep down.

Closed her eyes so long ago
Searching through the darkness
Lost all signs of life.
Hide and seek played so long ago
She counted and waited for so long
Always having faith
Faith in the people who left her for so long
Eyes shinging birght in the darkness
Where there used to be hope there is now only tears.

Tearing away at her clothes
Clawing at the walls that hold her in
beating the chains means beating herself
Digging at the scars she can't see
Whispering lonely words of comfort
Rocking oh so slowly like the wind
Whispering that they'll come
Cradeling the old rag doll
Ripped and stained with her blood
Eyes pulled out like her owner

As she rocks she feels different
Time is passing like real time
Rain drops fall instead of tears
Slowly she opens one eye and sees the mess of her life
While she was waiting for the the world kept on turning
No one came to look
So she laughs
Not the innocent laugh of the child playing hide and seek.
Now a bitter laugh to whisper to her tears
A cold laugh that catches in her throat
And still she waits
.
