| Protecting Part one I watched her for ages. She is so beautiful always smiling. Never lets problems get her down. Always happy, on top of the world, some might say. Just being in the same place as her makes you feel happy, like some of her is rubbing off on to you. That's why I have to be near her. Why I stand out side her window, as she sleeps, but thing could have been so different... We sit alone in our cottage in the country. The fire is dying down now, as it's late. The children are asleep and it's quite in the house: a perfect life. I work, while she stays home to look after our children. Two children: a boy and a girl, of course. I look down and see her asleep, she looks so vulnerable but I will protect her. I will always protect her. I look after her because I love her, she loves me to, she just doesn't know it, or wont admit it. I am brought back to reality by movement inside the house. Patrick Spiller. How dare he, he is not fit to be on the same planet as Holly let alone share the same bed as her. This is exactly the sort of person I am protecting Holly from. People like Patrick Spiller. Part two Holly was being wheeled along a corridor. He head was banging and her mind was racing. It was very dark and gloomy and she tried to scream but nothing came out. She was tied to a bedpost, gaged and tied like some prisoner. That's what she was though, a prisoner, and Tom Harvey was her jailer he had the keys to set her free but didn't want to. He would never let her go. He thought he was proving how much he loved her buying her a new dress putting music on. When all the time all she wanted to do was get away from him. Then he said something that scared her. He said they were going to go to sleep together and no one was going to wake them up. Her mind was racing. Fear was pumping through ever muscle in her body. Being with him forever was the worst thing that could ever happen to Holly. Then she did it: she got away from him but knew she had no chance of running out of there (especially in this ridiculous dress) so her only hope was the window. She got a chair and picked it up smashing it through the window yelling 'help' as loudly as she could. Then she felt a needle in he arm. She felt her knees going weak, and her vision became blurred. "Sweet dreams Holly" "Don't worry I'll always protect you." And then it went dark, it felt like some one was sitting on her chest it was getting harder and harder to breath.... "AHHHHHHH." Holly sat upright with a blood-curdling scream. She looked around her and realised she was in her home, safe. Just then Patrick walked in and held her tight. It was just a dream. She looked over his shoulder to the open window and, just for a second she thought she saw... "No it couldn't be," she told her self, "Tom Harvey is dead, history. Not even Tom Harvey can "protect me" when he is dead and buried." "Sweet dreams Holly." Someone whispered. It must have been Patrick. She hoped it was Patrick Part three As soon as tom stepped over those railings he knew it was a mistake. What if he fell? Too late to think about that now. He heard Dan telling him to stay calm, not to do any thing irrational. He stared past Dan, vaguely, in the back ground, he saw Patrick give Holly mouth to mouth, why was he doing that, why was he trying to wake her? She was so peaceful. Dan took a step closer, "Now don't do anything stupid..." "Stay back or I'll jump!" Dan looked at him anxiously, to see if he meant it. He knew Dan couldn't cope with a death on his conscious and he was using it to his advantage. He was still concentrating on Holly. He heard her cough, Patrick had saved her, how dare he. He had stopped him from being with Holly for the rest of eternity. "When I'm feeling weak, and my pain walks down, a one-way street, I look above and I know I'll always be blessed with love. And as the feeling grows, she brings flesh to my bones And when love is dead,I'm loving angels instead." This song was so true. Holly was his angel. Tom realised he had close his eyes to listen to the music. When he opened his eyes the scene before him almost killed him, Patrick, taking advantage of Holly at her weakest. How dare he hold her, how dare he even touch her. Tom tried to get back to her, back over the bars but he slipped and found himself clinging on with one hand to the bars. His only hope was Dan Robinson and the other option.... certain death. He'd take Dan. Dan grabbed his arms and held on as tightly as he could. Yet still he felt his grip slipping. He heard Holly sobbing and Patrick trying to comfort her, he suddenly thought "I will protect you from him if it's the last thing I do." And then he fell. Part four Holly woke up in a sweat. She'd had the dream again, the dream where Patrick hadn't come to save her and tom had got what he'd always wanted. Her. 'It was just a dream' she told herself. 'Patrick saved you and now everything's ok.' She had a lot to worry about today, as it was her first day back at work since the whole 'incident' had happened. She sat down at the table and nibbled on a bit of toast to try and stop her stomach jumping about so much. This attempt failed and only mad her feel even more sick and nervous. All of a sudden there was a loud 'bang' at the window and Holly jumped out of her skin. 'It's him' she told herself 'just as I was about to get on with my life he's come back to haunt me!' Slowly she walked over to the window and cautiously peered out. Expecting to see his face staring back at her. She breathed a sigh of relief to see that it was only a branch of a tree hitting her window. As she walked over to put the kettle on she caught a glimpse of the clock. It was ten to nine and she only had five minutes to catch the bus! She got to the bus stop completely out of breath only to see the bus turning the corner. She cursed (and not for the first time) Tom Harvey's very existence. Now she was going to be late on her first day back! She realised that the next bus wasn't due for another fifteen minutes so she went to get a coffee. "That'll be £3:00 please madam." Said the nice lady behind the counter as Holly grudgingly handed over the money. 'Most expensive cup of coffee I've had in a long time.' Holly muttered as she turned around to be confronted by a bunch of red roses, the card read 'long time no see.' Holly froze to the spot while a little voice was telling her that they were from him. "Are you just going to stand there all day?" A voice from behind her yelled and Holly shook her head and moved slowly on staring at the roses until she saw who was behind them: a small woman in her mid-thirties. Not Tom. It was a long wait for the bus and Holly was right at the back of the line. She stood there drinking her coffee, staring at the people around her and jumping at sudden noises. When she finally got on the bus she was charged a small fortune to sit on a smelly old bus when she probably could have walked there faster. When it got to the next stop a tall woman with long blond hair got on the bus. "Tom!" She screeched, flinging her arms out and running towards the back of the bus. Holly shivered, turning white as a sheet. As she turned round she expected to see him standing behind her with a needle in his hand. Instead she saw a man in his early sixties talking to his niece. She shook her head and smiled. Not believing how paranoid she was becoming. As she sat back in her seat a worrying thought struck her. 'What if she was like this for the rest of her life, What if this was as good as it gets?' More-> |
