My name is Hannes Jón and i live in the beautiful town of Hafnarfjörður on the southwest coast of Iceland.
I hold an Commercial Pilot's Licence, issued by the Icelandic CAA. I got PPL in 1993 and then CPL/IFR/
FI(A)/ATP from year 1998 to 2001. I fly for Icelandair now and I have now about 800 hrs total in my logbook and most of my hours (500) are flown here in Iceland on small aircraft. The rest is flown on the commercial Boeing 757.
I own a single engine aircraft in company with a few other pilots. The airplane is located at Reykjavík Airport (BIRK) and it is a model 1968 Beechcraft Musketeer in fine condition. Here you will find some photos and information about me and my Musketeer:
I have worked for airline companies for many years, first as ground personnel for Íslandsflug (Icebird Airlines) and then cabin crew for three years in ATR-42-300 for the same company. The ATR was mainly serving domestic locations here in Iceland at that time, but also a few locations is Greenland.
The year 2001 I began to work as a member of the cabin crew for Icelandair on Boeing 757-200/300 and the Boeing 767-300. Icelandair has a route system over the north Atlantic to many destinations in Europe and North America.
Since the year 2005 I have been first officer for Icelandair on the Boeing 757-200/300.
