His specialist areas are leadership and military strategy. He is the man that brings the team together.
Although family is not mentioned much during the series, he does have a nephew. Hannibal's past is shrouded in secrecy and we never really find out where he hails from.
Hannibal's devotion is to his fellow team-mates, and he would never leave one of his men behind.

Eludes to Hannibal's hazy history in the fact that he is actually an uncle and does seem to have family outside the team. The other reference that comes to mind is the bullshit he fed Amy Allen in the pilot episode about being a rancher. He was making it up but was all of it bull?

An angsty episode for those who like drama. Hannibal is kidnapped and the team have to find him. Sounds like a angst fanfic plot, I know.
