March, 28,1968, the Hanover Area Mothers of Twins club was founded with help from the York-White Rose MOTC. There were 25 mothers of twins present in the dining area of Hillview House at Hanover Hospital. Six members of the York-White Rose MOTC conducted the meeting. Election of officers were held and dues were set at $3.00 annually. President: Sally (now a 33 year member) Vice President: Phyllis (now a 33 year member) Treasurer: Romaine Recording Secretary: Ethelyn Corresponding Secretary: Frances April 24,1968, Installation of officers were conducted by Marlene Nelson of the York-White Rose MOTC February 26, 1969, the first set of by laws were adopted. 1969 Hanover Mother of Twins Club joined the National Organization of Mothers of Twins Club, Inc 1970 our club printed its first cookbook, Cooking Around the World and at Home. 1971 our club joined the Pennsylvania Organization of Mothers of Twins Clubs. On March 22,1978, The Tenth Anniversary Meeting was held in the Community Room of the Farmers Branch Bank, Baltimore Street in Hanover. In June 1978, our club printed the first edition of Twins...How Wonderful! In May 1981, our club printed the second edition of Twins...How Wonderful! March 1986 dues were increased to $5.00 annually and amended by-laws were adopted. In 1987, our club had rejoined the National Organization of Mothers of Twins Club. (we had with drawn our membership in 1984) On April, 27, 1988 The Twentieth Anniversary meeting was held at Grace United Church of Christ,Hanover PA In September 1988, there was a thrid printing of Twins...How Wonderful! On September 27, 1990, dues were increased to $10.00 annually and amended by-laws were adopted. In, May 1991, there was a fourth printing of Twins...How Wonderful! In 1993, our club printed its second cookbook, 25 Years of Double Delights. On April 23, 1993, the Twenty-Fifth Anniversary Meeting was held at Grace United Church of Christ, Hanover, PA In 1996, the club changed its name to The Hanover Area Mothers of Multiples. In 2000, the club added babysitting services so members with small children could attend. September 2001 The club changed it's name back to The Hanover Area Mothers of Twins and Triplets Club (for clarity of purpose), dues were raised to $15.00 effective October 1, 2001 and new By-Laws were adopted. |
