September 11. 2001
It is all so different now....Cautiously Seeking peace in a world that is not safe.
It was an evil, horrendous gouge, 9-11, The depth of dust and despair tearing into the eyes and soul of a nation and its' friends.
Nurses were there when the world changed, that day, that week and more.... Honoring the dead, supporting the living and comforting all trying to understand...
Today marching toward a new vision of helping people receive health care is a staggering idea, maybe even a halted thought right now... but we will suceed. We have the strength, tradition, and spirit.
We canot give up on a vision built from the humanistic principles and the democratic beliefs that have guided our nation and nurses through years of providing compassionate care and promoting understanding at times of great despair.
May we all find peace and a way to triumph over the darkening evil interrupting the betterment of mankind.
