Renate and I had a very exciting life so far and we would like to share it with people that are interested in it.
Both, Renate and I were born in Germany and lived there thoughout our school years, apprenticeship, military time, our wedding and finally immigration to Canada.
Still in Germany, a newspaper the WAZ (Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung) was delivered to my doorstep daily. At the job posting section I found an advertisement that Cassiar Asbestos Corporation is looking for a Heavy Duty Mechanic. When I applied for the Job I got an interview and also the Job.
We immigrated to Canada and Cassiar Asbestos Corporation went on strike. There were three people hired from Germany and one guy from the States. In order not to be unemployed right away the company send all the newhires to their Clinton Creek Mine. After the strike all the newcomers had to be relocated to Cassiar B.C.
