Generally clerks perform the following tasks:
Depending on the clerk's qualifications and experiences, he or she can promote from level 1 to level 5. Generally, the higher the levels, the better wages are obtained and there may be more benefits other than experience.
When a clerk is promoted, he or she may be given more difficult or advanced tasks, and at the same time canceling some easier tasks on the previous level.
2.
Educational qualifications are not always specified, though completion of year 11 or VCE is recommended. Accounting studies at this level could be an advantage. Some organisations conduct tests to assist in selection.A range of training options is available for the job. Training is provided in places such as TAFE.
Clerks are employed by a wide range of organisations, such as commercial and industrial organisations, government departments, building societies, insurance companies, banks and local councils.
3.The future prospects of being a clerk are promotion from level 1 eventually to level 5. The chance of promotion depends on how much experience the clerk has. If the clerk had improved a lot during one year, he or she may be promoted up one level.
4.I think that, in the future, the job is likely to decrease because the technology will increase greatly and more managers will know the basics of computers and financial organisations. So only more experienced clerks will be required, not necessarily first time clerks.
