Dan Bernitt - 4am
Singer-songwriter Dan Bernitt is a politically charged liberal, and equal rights advocate who is not afraid to speak his mind.  He's been writing and making music for years, starting on the piano at age eight and the guitar at fourteen.  Influenced and inspired by musicians like Ani DiFranco, Tracy Chapman, and John Mayer, Dan provides a refreshing folk-rock sound on politics, love, and heartbreak.  His lyrics, some fictional but mostly factual, have hit strong emotional notes, made even more poignant by the way that anyone, regardless of race, gender and sexual orientation can relate to his words.  His deeply moving songs have been described as "incredible, evocative, potant and powerful."

In May of 2002, he released his first self-produced album, the ten song work entitled "thoughts: scattered."  On that release, he battles topics like police brutality, love, homophobia, heartbreak, and violence toward abortion clinics.
