The Cubs ended the season without a win but showed enough improvement for us to be confident of their chances next  year. We suffered on 2 fronts, not enough players and we lacked some size compared to the other teams.

The Cubs will start training again in late August for the next season starting in October.

The Bobcats were very competitive, beating the Tamaki Lightning and getting close against the Raiders. The nucleus of the team came from Rosmini College and we hope to bring other players in to the squad from there and other schools next season.

Another loss, this time to the Raiders by 38-0. the team was let down by 6 players not turning up to the game, leaving the team with 7 to start the game and down to 5 with injuries.

The Katz had no more luck against the Tamaki Lightning, losing 43-6. Again they were competitive until half time but ran out of steam. Increased player numbers will help, but their tackling still leaves something to be desired

The Katz lost their first game against the powerful South Auckland Raiders; 51-6.  Competitive until half time, the much bigger Raiders team took advantage of their size to run over the Katz. While size was a factor, the Katz have to learn to tackle, they learned that gridiron differs from rugby in the way tackles are executed, they have trouble understanding the advantage line and the concept of yards and inches in this gam
e.

Gridiron New Zealand has merged the under 17 and under 19 competitions into the Colts Grade. Our amalgamated team will retain the Katz name . Their first game together is against the Raiders next Wednesda

The Katz opened their season with a 32-6 loss to the Tamaki Lightning. They suffer from lack of numbers and were reduced to 6 players when QB Matthew Hurley broke his wrist on a run-back. New and returning players are expected back this week
. NEW PLAYERS ALWAYS WANTED training is at 6pm every Monday at Domain 4, North Harbour Stadium. Games are played on Wednesday nights.  Contact us for more details.

The Lion's opening game was postponed because of field closure, we will have to make up the game during the season.  WE ARE IN DESPERATE NEED OF MORE PLAYERS training is every Monday and Thursday at 6pm at Domain 3, North Harbour Stadium. Games are on Saturday mornings
