Introduction, Aims & Objectives

Harit Dhara Sangathan is a voluntary, non-government & non-commercial organisation that works for the conservation and protection of the wild life wealth, plantation, pollution reduction, environment education, etc.

The aims and objectives of the organisation are as under:

To spread awareness about the deteriorating condition of our environment and the ways and means through which environment can be safeguarded and conserved.

To undertake better management of natural resources for well being of present as well as future generations.

To protect and improve the environment and safeguard the flora and fauna.

To play a watch dog role and bring to notice of Government and public instances, cases and consequences of environmental degradation wherever it may happen.

To prevent and control environmental pollution and to improve the quality of air, water and soil.

To carryout and/or sponsor studies, investigations and research relating to environmental pollution, ecological balance, environmental degradation, aforestation and deforestation, waste management, wildlife, sea-life and other natural resources.

To work in the area of waste management, aforestation and social forestry.

To plant trees, to protect trees, wildlife ad endangered species of the earth.

To make effort in preventing trade or commerce in wildlife or wildlife products.

To promote use of non-conventional energy and to conduct/sponsor R&D in this field.

To promote naturopathy, ayurveda, yoga and meditation.

To work for the environment and ecology of land form, rivers, mountains, seashores and oceans.

To involve the masses in protecting and conserving the environment and nature.

To impart nature and environment education at all levels.

To organise cultural programmes, rallies, marches, marathons, expeditions, nature camps, painting competitions, essay competitions, debates, seminars, etc. to create awareness about environment among the masses and to prevent environmental degradation.

To bring out newsletter and magazine on environment and nature.

To interact with other organisations- Government Institutions, citizens groups and voluntary organisations working for similar cause.

To have a website and homepage on the Internet.
