About:

              As a child, Morten was always very self willed and very independent. Often he'd dissapear from home  for hours on end to daydream. He used  to collect butterflies and orchids.
             Morten had piano lessons when he was a child, but like many other people he thought they were  a bit restricting and he didn't practice very much.
            Morten realised he wanted  to be a singer  when his parents took him to a brass band concert in Kongsberg. The conductor hoisted Morten on his shoulders  and he joined in with tunes. In fact Morten was so excited he wet the conductor. ''I did it all over his neck'', he laughs.
             Morten became a theology student and he also used to work as a psychiatric nurse in Oslo. ''Twice I was chased by fierce inmates and thought I would die'', he says. ''There were people  who were usually calm, but suddenly something triggered them off.''
            But Morten says his terrifying experiences were valuable ones. ''The job taught me how to cope with extrems, stay calm under pressure and understand people better. That's really useful when you are  in the pop world because you are meeting people 24 hours a day. By knowing what makes people tick you can get the best out of them.''
