Fave Fashion Designers!

I'm just a gal that luvs ta invent my own steelo.....I just luv ta experiment with hair styles, clothes, and even make-up! Sometimes I get some peeps at school, that I don't even know, come up ta me and say they luv tha way I dress and stuff. I think it's really cool that people like tha way I dress and stuff. Maybe that just goes ta show how many people will probably buy my clothes!

Let's start off by lettin me tell ya my fave fashion designers! I have been following fashion fer a long time. I remember back in tha day, my mam used ta watch all tha shows like FashionFile and FashionTelevision. I remember sayin to myself, "I could probably make all of that cool clothes!" Whaddya know? I am now designin wicked threads and I try to sew 'em up now and then. Anywayz......as yew can see, once again I have gone totally off topic.......that is just like me! So........my fave fashion designers........

Tommy Hilfiger is a very talented designer. He has been around for over 10 years and he is only being noticed now. For the past 3 or 4 years Tommy Hilfiger is finally getting the credit and respect he deserves. Mr. Hilfiger started his fashion line over 10 years ago and decided to base his collections on the fashion in New York streets. He wanted to see what kind of clothes the youth would be into. The Rap and Hip Hop scene had been a big trend in New York at the time.....so his clothes had really reflected on the Rap and Hip Hop scene. But in the past 2 years, Tommy Hilfiger changed the steelo he had always based his line on. Now he is focused on making the clothes less logo oriented. Now the clothes are more conservative. He makes more suits for men rather than the baggy jeans and oversized logo infested clothes he had focused on before. He also has started a line called Tommy Girl for women. The clothes are very feminine, and fashionable. They are not like the kind of clothes other designers make for women. I know there is a huge thing going on with Tommy sayin racist stuff.....personally....it does bother me....but I like his clothes.....and until he makes crappy clothes, I'll keep buying his stuff.

Next to Tommy Boy......I luv Karl Lagerfeld. He designs for lines such as Lagerfeld, Chanel, and Chloe......although the Chloe Line has been taken over by Stella McCartney......as in daughter of Paul McCartney......as in The Beatles. Karl Lagerfeld took over the Chanel line after Chanel Founder, Coco Chanel, died. Lagerfeld has done an excellent job with Chanel, and Lagerfeld. I love the clothes.....they are very feminine. The work he has done over the years has been excellent....and I think it always will be too. Many people have said that Karl knows how to make womens clothes perfectly....finding every curve and showing them off. Karl also knows how to take a pant suit that is very masculine, and make it perfectly for a women....just the right balance of masculinity and femininity. That's a talent that you don't find in all designers.

Donna Karan is a very talented designer. As far as I know, she designs lines......Donna Karan, DKNY, and D. Donna Karan is a very mature line and consists of many dressy pieces, such as evening gowns and stuff. DKNY is a line more focused on ages 25 and over. I guess you could say she designed the line for people her age. The clothes are very conservative and are very professional. They look great on practically everyone! D is a line that Donna started for her daughter. The clothes in the D line are for people in their 20's and under. The clothes are very playful and youthful. These are they type of clothes that I would love to wear............only if I could afford it! Donna Karan is always seen wearing black. There have been the odd rumours that Donna has been in mourning for years....or that she practises wicca. The truth is that Donna Karan wears black because it goes with anything.....you can dress it up or dress it down. Best of all you can wear black anywhere....no matter where you are.

Betsey Johnson is a very talented designer. I love her clothes, but Betsey is like no other designer. She has a style of her own! She wears some crazy outfits......like extra short shorts, fishnet stockings, layered baby tees with long-sleeve shirts, oversized plastic costume jewelry, knee high Doc Martens in some crazy color combos, and her hair in pigtails with crazy accessories! I mean......I don't see many designers dressing like that very often. The thing I love about Betsey is that she really doesn't care what people think of the way she dresses......and I love that attitude! I find that Betsey likes to design lots of her clothes to look like modern 1930's to 1950's fashions. I think the look is really cool. Lots of the dresses have embroidered pink flowers on them. It's a really cute look, and lots of people are into it. Betsey has been designing for a long time....and she's doing a wicked job at it too!

Vivienne Westwood has to be one of the best British designers! Although she lives in Paris France, she keeps the fashions oriented around the British fashion scene. Everyone that knows me knows that I am crazy about everything that is British! Vivienne's clothes are very playful and theatrical. All of her fashion shows always have a theme.......like last years Fall/Winter '97 line was based on the Wild Wild West. If you had a chance to see the show, you will probably agree that the show seemed more like a play rather than a fashion show. If you ever get the chance to see a Vivienne Westwood fashion show........go for it! She's one of the beat, and you could say she is one of the pioneers of the fashion industry. Vivienne has always been known for the very theatrical fashion shows. You have to admit that it is very different from your average black runway.

Fashion Tips
