Table of Full Moon Names

A few years ago during a sleepover , a very good friend of mine and I were talking. “You know how in songs you hear of things like a ‘Harvest Moon’ and ‘Corn Moon’?” She asked. “Yeah,” I said, wondering what she was getting at. “Well, I always wonder what month’s full moons they are talking about. And, if two or three months have full moon names, do all of them?” As you can see, that’s a very good question. So I did some searching on the internet and found some names for various months on many different sites. As it was so long ago, I can’t find the sites anymore, but I did put what I know together and found that I had a name for the full moon of every month. I don’t know about where the names originate from historically either, so if you know I would really appreciate an email. But anyway, here they are; the full moon names!

Note: if there is more than one full moon in a month, that moon is referred to as ‘blue.’ Thus, a ‘Blue Corn Moon’ would be the second full moon in August.
