| Samuel Lon Hayhurst - Born Dec. 19, 1840 - Died Dec. 10, 1878 Enlisted - Co. I, 4th Arkansas State Infantry - served as a 2nd Lieutenant - Was at the battle of Wilson's Creek. Transferred to Co. H of Cocke's Arkansas Infantry. Came in as a Lieutenant, but was promoted to Captain. Was first buried in the Old Berryville Cemetery, but was moved to the Berryville IOOF Cemetery, which today is known as the Berryville Memorial Park. Buried next to his wife Sarah. |
