Absalom Lee Hamby - born August 5, 1843 in Cherokee County, Alabama, and died January 4, 1929 in Rudd, Carroll County, Arkansas. He married Susannah Mary Goad on October 14, 1862 in the Rudd Community in Carroll County. She was born in 1847 in Georgia, and died March 28, 1862 in Carroll County, Arkansas.
He served as a Private in Company C, 3rd Arkansas Infantry. He drew a Pension in Carroll County.
The 3rd Arkansas served in the major battles of Appomattox, Chickamauga, and Gettysburg.
