| Thomas Washington Fancher - born Jan. 24, 1833 in Overton County, Tennessee, and died in Carroll County on Aug. 31, 1892. He was married to Elizabeth Sneed in Osage Arkansas in 1857. Elizabeth was born Nov. 13, 1839 and died on Dec. 20, 1916. Thomas a officer in Harrell's Arkansas Cavalry. This unit saw action at Prairie Grove, Poision Springs, Mark's Mills, and during General Price's Missouri Operations. His Father was James F. Fancher, who was a veteran of the War of 1812. He was also a cousin to the Fancher's of the Mountain Meadows Massacre of 1857. Items from the Poision Springs, and Mark's Mills Battles, and Moutain Meadows can be seen at the Carroll County Historical Society in Berryville, Carroll County, Arkansas. |
