Rules and Scoring Thanks to Harry Potter Headquarters for the qudditch rules.

At the beginning of the game, the captains of the two participating teams shake hands and then all players mount their brooms. Once every player has mounted their brooms, the referee releases the balls and the game begins.

Scoring

10 points- Quaffle through a goalpost 150 points- Catching of the Golden Snitch by the Seeker.

Once the Snitch has been caught, the game is over.

Fouls

There are over 700 ways to commit a foul in the game of Quidditch. The team that is fouled against may either get possesion of the Quaffle or a free shot at the goal post.

The Quidditch Field is very large, the one that they used for the Quidditch World Cup in Book 4 could fit 10 cathedrals easily. On the field there are 3 round, golden goalposts raised 50 feet in the air on each side. The seats surrounding the field for the spectators are raised to allow for better viewing of the action.

Players

Seeker (1)- Trys to catch the Golden Snitch by weaving in and out of the Chasers, Beaters, Bludgers, and Quaffle before the other team's Seeker. The game doesn't end untill the Snitch is caught.

Chaser (3)- Throw the Quaffle to eachother and try to get it through one of the hoops to score a goal.

Beater (2)- Protect their side from the Bludgers and try to knock them toward the other team.

Keeper (1)- Flys around the hoops on his (her) side to try to prevent the other team from scoring.

Equipment

Broomstick (14)- Each player has a broomstick to ride on. There are several different types of broomsticks (ex. Cleansweep 5, Firebolt, Nimbus 2000- 2001).

Snitch (1)- Tiny, about the size of a large walnut. Bright gold with fluttering silver wings. Very hard to catch because it's so fast and difficult to see.

Quaffle (1)- Bright red ball about the size of a soccer ball.

Bludger (2)- Jet Black and slightly smaller than a Quaffle.

Bat (4)- Each Beater gets one. Used to beat the Bludgers towards other team.
