Washington, DC - The International Brotherhood of Hated Husbands announced today the publication of the long-awaited first issue of the Journal of Hated Husband Studies. The JHHS, a joint project of the IBHH and Harvard University, will explore the persistent phenomenon of Hated Husbands, from a cross-cultural, linguistic, and historical perspective. "Finally, a journal that will address a glaring gap in the current academic approach to Hated Husbands," Dr. Harvey Ridreep announced at a ceremony for the inaugural issue.

Ridreep, whose own wife has deeply, utterly loathed him throughout their 30-year marriage, stated that current Hated Husband scholarship takes a narrow, Western view of the problem. "But we know that Hated Husband Syndrome (HHS) is prevalent all over the world." He added that words like "screw-head," "moron" and "wimp" have universal meaning that needed to be explored in the Hated Husband context. Ridreep was prepared to speak of the future of Hated Husband studies; however, Ridreep's comments were cut short when his wife, who was glaring at him from behind the podium throughout his presentation, announced to the gathering of university officials that Ridreep had "issues at home" that needed his attention.

The Journal is expected to start an entirely new field, according to the IBHH, including college courses and symposia.
