(travelers on a path to home often stop along the way)

where is home
can you see it from here
is the father standing with arms outstretched
is he longing for the sight of me
does he miss me as much as i miss him

with what weary step i trod
with what bleary eye i stare
trouble and pain
surround my way
hope and light are almost gone
when one scarred hand reached through the haze
and pulled me into his arms

with sweet embrace and soft caress
i weep such bitter tears
i've been gone so long
i've been so wrong
but my words are brushed away

no matter how far
no matter how long
all that matters is that now you are here

THEN CAME JESUS

My story it begins,
Like so many others do.
My life was filled with empty dreams,
And I knew not what to do.
All the people that I counted on,
Always seem to let me down,
And whenever I was lonesome,
Not a friend was to be found.

Chorus;
And then came Jesus,
And he took me by the hand,
And he wrapped his love around me,
Though I did not understand.
This friend called Jesus,
Will take all the broken parts,
And he'll put them back together,
And he'll mend your broken heart.

My story has no ending,
'Cause now I'll live eternally,
Jesus died upon that cross,
To give life to you and me,
And this is such a precious gift,
That is sent from God above,
So now give your heart to Jesus,
And let him cleanse you with his blood.

Chorus:
And then comes Jesus,
And he'll take you by the hand,
And he'll wrap his love around you,
Though you might not understand.
This friend called Jesus,
Will take all the broken parts,
And he'll put them back together,
And he'll mend your broken heart.

A Poem by Pearl

So hard to let the secrets out,
So hard to feel the pain,
So hard to be the frightened child,
So hard to face the shame.

So hard to let the light come in,
So hard to see it shine,
So hard to know the awful truths,
So hard to admit they’re mine.

So hard to be so vulnerable,
So hard to know the fears,
So hard to speak the words, I know
So hard to cry the tears.

So hard, I want to run away,
So hard to carry on,
So hard this healing journey is,
So hard and O so long.

Another world inside my head,
That very few will see.
Horror stories, not pretend,
For they are really me.

Other people, live inside,
Hold the memory.
Know the things that I don’t know,
The secrets I don’t see.

Gradually they’re coming out,
To tell share their broken hearts,
Know that in this life of mine,
They too can have a part.

They protected me for all these years,
My silent friends, it seems.
It’s my turn to listen,
While they tell and cry and scream.

So hard to let the secrets out,
So hard to feel the pain.
So hard to be the frightened child,
So hard to face the shame.
