In addition to his teaching and academic work within the Hawaiian community, Al also performs for public and private venues, including past performances at Windward Community College, the University of Hawaii campus, the Sheraton Waikiki, as well as  the Havana Cabana and Anna Bannana's in Honolulu.  Now making his home in the Pacific Northwest, Al and  Ke Kai Malino can be heard live throughout the Seattle area.
Brother Al has been a student and teacher of Hawaiian music and culture since his boyhood days in Honolulu. As a youth, Al had the opportunity to perform with and learn from some of the true legends of the Hawaiian music genre. His extensive knowledge of Hawaiian language and culture enables him to create his unique musical interpretations. A classic slack key guitar style coupled with his gripping vocal interpretations create unique musical performances, and landmark recordings.
