AHI NAMA
un explosion cubana
live at Cosmopolite, Oslo Norway jan-03
AHI NAMA is a concept established in the late 90's in the latin / cuban community in Oslo, Norway. As a jazzpianist with experience from contemporary jazz, classical music, afrobrasilian music etc, this " new" influence is inspiring and interessting.
Learning the tradition, then adding elements from jazz, funk etc has been fun. Also it has turned some heads among cubans and others. Hopefully for good reasons
We are currently working in the studio, recording a CD. Luisons rumbero / sonero personality and earthlinked soul is a strong influence.Born and raised in Pinar Del Rio, San Cristobal, Cuba. Coming from a family of musicians, he became multitalented; Singing, playing congas and clavepedal with his foot, plus a deep understanding of the authentic afrocuban music-culture.He played professional football for years before moving to New York, where he joined the band Los Jovenes Del Barrio, Orhestra Novel and  Orchestra Fajardo.
Arranging traditional songs like Chan-Chan & El Quarto De Thula  in a wide classy, yet true to the core, arrangements has been a great experience.

This page will include cuts from our late CD as soon as possible.
