Wednesday February 7th 2001 was one of the four best days in my life. It was my fourth Backstreet Boys concert at the Skydome in Toronto. Let me just say, that this was one hell of an amazing concert. Hmmm... I don't know where to begin my story... maybe the beginning... Ok, after school that day, my intention was to leave as early as possible to go to the concert. Unfourtanelty, that didn't happen, and we(my mom and I) left around 5:00. Traffic was horrible. The Gardner "Express" was moving sooooo slow. Besides the BSB concert at Skydome, there was also a Maple Leafs game going on at the Air Canada Centre. So as we were in traffic, I looked |
over to my right, and there was a van with a bunch of girls in it! They were waving posters of the fabulous five, so I waved back! Then I held up a magazine with the Backstreet Boys on it, and they waved some more, and then, for some reason, they took a picture of me! That was kinda weird, but it was ok cause BSB fans have this bonding thing going on :) Anyways, we neared the Skydome at 6:30 and got a really cheap parking spot($7.00!!!), then walked to the KISS92 booth. |
There were so many screaming fans there, because the station was giving out tickets to the concert every 10 minutes! We stayed there for a while, then headed to gate 15 to get to our seats! We walked right in, and headed down to get to our FLOOR seats :) Section A2 row 3 seats 3 & 4 :) I bought a t-shirt and program from a souviner stand and the total was $60!!! That's crazy! But it's ok cause BSB are so worth it :) I went to guest services then and gave them a card that I had made for Nick, and I am pretty sure that he's gonna get it, cause there was a pile of stuff for the guys. Anyways, around 7:45(I |
think) the opening act went on. It was a girl named Krystal, and she is under BSBs record label. She sang about 4 or 5 songs, and they were pretty good. When she was done, the lights came back on, and we waited another half an hour till they went out again. That's when BSB came on!!! My mom grabbed my arm, and we ran up to *almost* the centre of the front row. If anybody knows what the stage looked like, we were right next to the left "wing". Security kept pushing people back, but we squeezed in really close to the seats, so they looked like they were ours, and stayed that way for well over half the concert! I got so many amazing pictures*I still have to develope them*! But then I almost got kicked out of the concert!!! A security guard saw my camera... and well, I'm not gonna say what happened. I had to go back to my regular seat though, but they were still good. They sang so many amazing songs! Most of the songs from Black and Blue, and some older favourites. I loved it when they sang *The Answer to our Lives*. It was so sweet!!! The concert started |
off with *Everyone* and ended with *The Call* and *Shape of my Heart*. In total, I think that the concert lasted about 1 hour and 45 min. There were over 55 000 fans in the Skydome!!! It was so awesome! But my story isn't finished yet. After the concert ended, my mom and I went around downtown Toronto looking for any hotels the boys might have been staying at. And guess what we saw?! A crowd of girls was waiting outside one hotel(I'm not saying which one :). We parked the car, and seriously, within like 5 minutes of being |
there, guess who shows up?!!! AJ!!! He gets out of his bus, and rushes into the hotel, escorted by security. Cameras flashed, girls screamed, and it was so cool :) He went to the bar, and parked himself beside the window that was right in front of us! We were watching him for like an hour!!! Then later on he was escorted to a jeep, and drove off. I was FOUR FEET AWAY FROM HIM!!! I got a picture of him when he went into his car, and I so hope that it turns out! We left the hotel around 12:45, and drove home. Now, two days later, my voice is almost back to normal, and I can't stop smiling :) That night was truely amazing :) The End... until the next concert:) |
