Gold! covers the early history of Australian gold mining:
discovery, mining methods, Eureka Stockade and other problems.
It also touches briefly on the modern Australian gold industry.
Like previous sets of materials by Hazel Davidson and Dorothy Court,
the reading materials are written at three levels
and are accompanied by a workbook of language-based exercises
and an audio CD with permission to copy once onto cassette for teachers
who do not have ready classroom access to CD players with detailed tracking.

This resource is suitable for both adult and younger learners.
It can assist older readers, NESB and ESB, who have problems with English print
or it can be used as part of primary SOSE programmes.
