The miracle at the Wedding Feast of Cana gives us the clear message that Jesus offers life to us, -- life in abundance. Jesus' gift is that life is worth living. Life takes on a greater meaning. Jesus shows us through his life and his teaching that our time on earth is not just to be lived out as if we were in some kind of prison, waiting for the final moment of our execution. No, rather life is to be celebrated and lived to the fullest. 

God rejoices and delights in us. So many times we think that we are not worth very much. We often disappoint ourselves with our less than loving behaviour. Perhaps we even question how anyone could possibly care for us. We wonder how anyone could love someone who fails as often as we do. It's so easy to get caught up in this negative way of looking at ourselves. Jesus came to free us from this life-draining view of ourselves in which we can get
