Catholic Churches Response to Eating Disorders
Our bodies are temples of God and it is a sin to abuse it. It's their responsiblity to help to take care and look after God's children. As a church they could help get them back on the right track again and help them start to take care of themselves.
Imagine this......you go to your Church, Temple, for Sunday services, as you walk in the door of the Santuary, you see it filled with garbage. Things are in there that should not be in a holy place. Things are in the Church, Temple, that were never meant to be there. How would you feel seeing that? Now imagine this...... God looks into his Temple, your body, where his Holy Spirit resides..... What does he see? Does he see garbage? Does He see that you have been taking care of His Temple by feeding it garbage (food that was not designed to be eaten by Him)? We are God's stewards. He has given us stewardship over the things on this earth. One of the things we are most likely to neglect is His Temple, our body. Can you imagine how this much grieve him? We are also his workmanship. He designed us. Who would know better then our designer to keep our bodies working at optimum level? Besides designing us, God created food for us to nurish our bodies.  He did not create food for us to worship or become slave unto as many people have. He commmands us not to have any other God's before him. Sure we say I don't worship any other God's, I go to church I am saved but, how many of us have replaced God with the idol of food?
Do you not know your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have recieved from God?
