Dead Heads, from this web page you can find my list of Grateful Dead shows/sets that I (Hal) have spent years listening and collecting. My collection spans 65 to 95 with the same "open mind". I usually do not give preference to any show in particular because, in my opinion, they are all grate! At any one particular time I may or may not be up for a trade. I prefer CD at this point, but quality cassettes are welcome. I prefer to trade or B&P in person rather than by mail. Terms of trade are mutually agreed prior to each trade. Kindly contact me at HOUSEOFHAL@JUNO.COM. At that point I will give you all the details (source, mix, quality, set list, etc.). I am confident that you would be happy with any tape or CD I make for you.

Kindly know your set list. For example, don't indicate you have a "show" when it is missing a song or contains cuts not documented on a reputable Dead site such as www.deadlists.com. This is not to say that I do not have or trade lesser quality material, but at least I let you know of imperfections (if any) prior to trading. In the case of cassettes please use proper recording levels. Peaks should be between -4 and +4db inclusive. Rule of thumb is that an A+ analog cassette should sound as good and enjoyable as a Dicks Picks release on CD. On any media please understand "normal sound floor". I use Maxell XLII 90 tapes and quality CD's like TY. I never use Dolby, auto-reverse or burn faster than 8X. I consider myself to be a true audio and videophile, and an excellent judge of quality. In my opinion, the best "quality" one can expect should be benchmarked against any GDM DVD release. "Quality" does not mean the bands performance.

The equipment I use is as follows. Carver MXR-130 receiver. Sony DVP9000ES DVD/SACD/CD player. Sony TW7ESA tape deck. Dual CS620Q turntable. AKG K240 headphones. JBL S412P studio monitors. Monster HTS1000 power conditioner. Acoustic Research and Monster Cable interconnects. Toshiba TW40X81 television. Dell Dimension 8100 computer Pentium 4.

My list includes shows I am currently in process of trading for. For these type shows, dates appear in italic type and are not reflected in the number of hours. Only shows with a CD icon adjacent to the date are available in digital (or analog) format.

2468 hours as of 4-20-2009
