HUGS

It's wondrous what a hug can do.
A hug can cheer you when you're blue.
A hug can say, "I love you so", or,
"Gee! I hate to see you go."

A hug is, "welcome back again!" and,
"Great to see you!" or "Where've you been?"
A hug can soothe a small child's pain
And bring a rainbow after rain.

The hug! There's just no doubt about it,
We scarcely could survive without it.
A hug delights and warms and charms,
It must be why God gave us arms.

Hugs are great for fathers and mothers,
sweet for sisters, swell for brothers,
and chances are some favorite aunts
love them more than potted plants.

Kittens crave them. Puppies love them.
Heads of state are not above them.
A hug can break the language barrier,
And make the dullest day seem merrier.

No need to fret about the store of 'em
The more you give, the more there are of 'em.
So stretch those arms without delay
and give someone a hug today.

To Arms

Hugs are not only nice, they're needed.
Hugs can relieve pain and depression,
make the healthy healthier, the happy happier
and the most secure among us, even more so.
Hugging feels good, overcomes fear, eases tension,
provides stretching exercise if you're short
and stooping exercise if you're tall.
Hugging does not upset the environment,
saves heat and requires no special equipment.
It makes happy days happier and impossible days possible.

HUG POWER

A hug means-
I share my space with you.
I share my warmth and strength and accept yours.
If you ache, I comfort you.
I do not reject you.
I do not fear you, nor will I harm you.
You are not alone.
Somebody cares.

A HUG-
Builds a bridge above alienation, suspicion and confusion.
has it's own language and needs no words.
it changes you and me to we.

Hug a stranger, Discover a friend.

A HUG?

There's no such thing as a bad hug, only good ones and great ones.
They're not fattening and they don't cause cancer or cavities.
They're all natural with no preservatives, artificial ingredients, or pesticide residue.
They're cholesterol free, naturally sweet, 100% wholesome,
and they're a completely renewable natural resource.
They don't require batteries, tune-ups or x-rays.
They're non taxable, fully returnable, and energy efficient.
They're safe in all kinds of weather, in fact, they're especially good for cold or rainy days.
And they're exceptionally effective in treating problems like bad dreams or the Monday blahs.
Never wait until tomorrow to hug someone you could hug today!

Note from Phil:
On December 15, 1999 my mother finally succumbed to the cancer that she had been fighting for over two years.
I have created a page titled In Memorium as a tribute to her.

There have been wonderful visitors to this site.
