Puddles My Buddy

Puddles our new family member was born on December 12, 1995. We found her about a month later and fell in love right away. Puddles was going to full fill a void in our lives from the passing of the family pet. Turtle our Cocker Spaniel of 9 years. With Puddles being part Lhasa Apso and Poodle, we have the best of both worlds and sometimes the worst.
Turtle our first friend

After moving to town from the farm, we needed a family pet. Knowing I would have a commitment of taking care of an animal in town, we purchased our first indoor pet Turtle. This dog was a companion for all of the family members. When she passed away in the fall of 95, we did not think we needed another pet.

More Food Please

It was not long after a lot of tears and lonely hours we knew our companion needed to be replaced. We knew in our hearts there would never be a replacement. Checking the newspapers and traveling to many different pet stores, we came upon Puddles. After the third trip to the pet store, we finely decided to take a real look at Puddles. The store clerk took her out of the kennel and placed her on the floor. And guess what she did?

I had a few tests that I wanted our new companion to pass before I made a commitment to take her home. As we put her through the tests, which the clerk thought were a little silly, we knew she was the one for us. Now it was time to take her home. It was cold and I placed her in my jacket to keep her warm. She got sick from the car ride and strange people. I really did not mind because I think I would have been sick too under those same circumstances.

Puddles came to our home full of antics, energy and mischief. Great watchdog sees every squirrel, rabbit and bird around. When I come home from work puddles greets me at the door and heaven forbid if I do not come into the house right away.

When I sit in my chair, she has to sit there too right along side of me. Is it to protect me, no I don't think so and from what? Actually my chair is her chair and she only allows me to sit in it when I'm home.

My daughter's cat had kittens and the grand kids named them. Pinky was so small when she was born that she needed to be bottle fed to survive until she was large enough to nurse from her mother. The grand kids wanted us to have her. I had to say yes and Puddles needed a playmate.

Pinky Puddles little buddy

Well Pinky became a member of our family just a few month ago and Puddles and Pinky have the time of there lives. Just watching them play makes us laugh for hours. I would take a photo of them playing but it may look like they are fighting when they are not. Pinky actually starts the antics, jumping of Puddles back than running off. Puddles is to slow to catch her though. After some time they lay down together and take a nap. You can learn a lot from animals. Work hard Play hard and then take a NAP.

Grandson and Puddles

Here you see Puddles playing with one of my grand children. She loves children and anyone who will play with her. You can not out run Puddles during one of her playing sessions.

Puddles goes by many names from Pud Pud and Stinky Dog. You know it is surprising how a name sticks and for what reason. Bath time is time that isn't really cherished. When the ordeal is completed, she takes her frustrations out on chew toys and stuffed animals. It is a way of telling us something without using the standard voice of disapproval.
