As you can see, I've been lax in my keeping up these pages, and I'm sorry. Quite a bit has happened in the last year. My oldest son, Nathan, graduated from Millikin University with a degree in Experimental Psychology.
Aaron is attending Lincoln's Challenge Academy in Rantoul, Illinois, going through a five month military type program. Here's a picture of him and his girlfriend, Meghan, with my mom at Nathan's graduation.
Tyler is doing great. He just turned 13 and is heading into those dreadful teen years. I think he has a good head on his shoulders, though, and will breeze through them, more or less. (smile)
Mike and I are still going to college. Mike is in his last semester and he'll have a degree in Criminal Justice. I am on summer break right now, but will be returning in the fall.
We did get a real cute little dog last year. His name is Tucker, and he's a rat terrier/chihuahua mix. Mike's mom owns his mother and father.
It's been a busy year! Michael and I have been attending college classes at Lewis and Clark Community College. He is working towards a degree in Criminal Justice, and I am working on a degree in Fine Arts. So far so good! I have a brag. My first semester I won an Excellence in Art Design Award from Lewis and Clark. Last semester I entered my first real art show held in Southern Illinois, and won 3rd place in overall drawing. We attended the awards ceremony and reception, and then I was called to attend the board meeting at Lewis and Clark, where I was recognized for my achievement. It was good. Here is the drawing that won the award:
I also won a contest to become a guest writer on the Alton Telegraph for this next year. I've already written one article and will write 3 more for the upcoming year.
Nathan is in his third year of college at Millikin University in Decatur, IL. He's joined Kappa Sigma Fraternity and is living at the frat house. His address is: 164 Park Place Decatur, IL. 62522 if you want to write him. He may be going to work at a boy's home in Peoria this summer.
Dad has received quite a few interesting additions to his WWII Navy Page. If you haven't checked it out lately, do so. He was given a picture of his ship, the Casseopiea AK75, by my cousin, Dennis Feldt. He was very touched by it and it's hanging in the livingroom.
Dad's autobiography of Growing Up On a Farm In Illinois During The Depression is now on line. There are quite a few pictures, and you can read it at Roots
Dad's WWII Navy Memoirs is on the World Wide Web, and I'm so excited. He's already received some very nice comments and made GeoCities Featured Page program. It's more than a War Story.. It's a personal experience. We are still making some changes and additions, so check it out, and then come back again for further updates. It's at Dave Friederich's WWII Navy Page
