Bandit's Favorite Game
Mom gets the poker chips out of their box
(we're laying on the floor at this point). Bandit struts over,
and either
violently throws the chips out of the plastic tray one by one, or
else
grabs the tray itself and heaves it, causing the chips to fly
willy-nilly all over.
Mom gathers all the chips from the far corners
of the living room
and stacks them up - fending off the growling, feathers-fluffed
Nanday the
whole time. Once the stack is built, Bandit either pulls them off
one by one
starting from the top (or close to it), or he bashes the whole
column
over with one fell swoop of his beak (then he laughs madly).
Mom tries to grab every chip and shove them
under her shirt
(as she lies on the floor on her stomach) while the cackling
Nanday
tries to stop her. This is Bandit's favorite variation of the
game. Eventually
Bandit does his roll-over under the armpit routine and starts
tickling me,
and the game ends with both of us laughing. He then needs to calm
down with
some kisses and head scratches.
Bandit and Tony
Tony and Bandit do not interact well, but
occasionally they call a truce.
If I am not in the vicinity, they can even play together without
blood being drawn.
Those turned off by the INCREDIBLY LOUD
SHRIEKS a Nanday uses
for "Hello" and "Goodnight" are missing an
incredibly loving, intelligent,
and amusing conure.
