Leo's Usual Pose

Leo has lived with us since 1985. When we adopted him as a kitten
he was known as Nutmeg. We renamed him Leo at once because of
his regal facial expression. He never struck us as a spice.

What a studly pussycat!

When Leo was young, he was a mighty hunter.
One memorable day, he brought a crow home - right through the front window!
(Yes, it was open at the time). How he managed to leap up to the windowsill
with that squacking, flapping crow in his mouth we'll never know.
He sure thought he was hot stuff after that and strutted around for hours.
There is nothing like the look of smug satisfaction
a cat wears after bringing home dinner for his people.

There must be some reason she left this box sitting here.

Now Leo's age has gone to his belly.
He spends most of his time stretched out in the sun
or curled up on a soft cushion. He can still, however, bless us
with a mouse head when the mood strikes him.
