Welcome

Hello from windy Nebraska! 2004 has been a busy year around our household, and 2005 looks to be just as busy, with lots of changes in the air. This is our last Christmas letter from Omaha. Next year will bring a letter from sunny California. That's right: the Air Force is sending Brian to the left coast to work as the Assistant Clinical Site Director for the Army's nurse anesthesia training program. We'll be living somewhere near Fairfield, CA and Travis Air Force Base. At this point, it looks like it will be early June when we make our move. This is a great honor and opportunity for Brian, and we're looking forward to seeing that part of the country.

Brian has had many things on his plate this year. He has been serving as Den Leader for Noah's Cub Scout pack, as well as teaching adult and junior high Sunday School classes. This was all in addition to the many hours he spent administering anesthesia and handling various extra responsibilities he was handed at the base.

Karen's life has been filled with homeschooling activities, ladies' Bible studies, and her duties as President of the Nebraska Christian Services Auxiliary. She is currently working on gathering recipes from church members to publish a cookbook to raise funds for Nebraska Christian Services. She is also serving as the Committee Chairman of Noah's Cub Scout pack.

The kids have all taken up a new pastime, taekwondo. They all began lessons back in the middle of August. Emily is currently a yellow belt, Noah is an orange belt, and Halle and Joel are both second level Tiny Tigers. The next belt testing is coming up in January, and we are hoping they will all be ready to test for their next belt then.

Emily and Noah were both active in a homeschool choir this past semester. They performed in their Christmas concert earlier this month. Noah and Halle have been bowling one afternoon a week as well. Halle's technique has improved greatly from the start of the season. She no longer "shot-puts" the ball, but can throw it with one hand now. Joel is planning on starting bowling next season. He has a good arm!

We hope this holiday season finds all our friends and family safe and happy. Please come and visit if you can! Our home is always open.
