Dakota's state forests offer many recreational activities including
hunting, hiking, horseback riding, canoeing, fishing, camping,
photography and berry picking. There is one state forest in The
Valley region:
Tetrault Woods State Forest (A mile and a half
south of Walhalla, ND, off Highway 32)

acres of forest in the beautiful Pembina Gorge. The gorge is a
forested valley along the meandering Pembina River, and is one of
North Dakota's most scenic river valleys. There's also an elk herd,
more than 75 species of breeding birds, 480 species of plants, and
trails for hiking, horseback riding, cross-country skiing, ATVs and
snowmobiling.
