Though we call ourselves a kennel - in fact we do not
have any kennels! We have been loving and breeding
Shar-Pei for about 8 years and in that time
have found that they do best when they have constant
contact with humans and are raised in the home rather
than in kennels. Therefore, we only have 3-4
adult Shar-Pei at any given time, that live in our house
as our much loved, much spoiled companions!
We believe that being a GREAT pet is the most important
function of a Shar-Pei and have devoted ourselves to
producing top quality dogs, from well bred lines, that
excell in health and, above all temperment. We have
produced many pups that might have excelled in the show
ring, but are happy to say that most have found loving
"couch-potato" homes!
We purchased our first Shar-Pei, "Normy", in 1988 and, thanks
in large part to her fabulous looks and super-sweet dispostion,
were instantly hooked on the breed. Though Normy was from quality
stock, she never excelled as a producer and was eventually
"replaced" as our foundation bitch.
(see the Story of Normy)
Our lines have their foundation with Alpha stock and we thank
Mike & Pam Litz for our foundation bitch, Alpha Lady
"Chelsea" Duet, a very typey, very "correct" fawn horsecoat:
She was bred to Alpha Stolen Merchandise, the number one Shar-Pei
in the U.S. for '93/94, which produced our current breeding bitch,
"Grizzy" - also a very typey fawn horsecoat. Grizzy is one of
the most "people loving" Shar-Pei we have ever owned and has
produced some lovely pups for us! We have a Grizzy daughter,
"Igora", out of Ch.Suzee's Huck L Berry Chin (otherwise known
in Canadian show circles as "Basil"). We are hoping to introduce
Igora to the show-ring in the summer of '97. We also co-own
a young male pup of Grizzy's, out of Alpha Moshu Spendabuck
(a healthy, happy 10 year old!). We are hoping for
good things from him!
Stay tuned for future updates!
