35th Lowe Family Reunion, Greensboro, NC

The 35th Lowe Family Reunion was hosted by the Lowe Family members of North Carolina in Greensboro, NC, Friday, July 3 through Sunday, July 5.

Accommodations were at the Embassy Suites Hotel. The hotel was minutes away from Piedmount Triad International Airport and within easy access of many tourist attractions.

Family members began arriving in Greensboro, Thursdays, July 3. Family members enjoyed sightseeing and shopping at the an wide assortment of malls and outlets. Later in afternoon a traditional family cookout was held at nearby Oka T. Hester Park. There was a wide variety of food and activities for the young and old. The park had a playground and a picturesque lake where ducks and geese gathered and were a big attention-getter for kids and shutter bugs. There was a spirited competition at the horseshoe pit between old hands and the youngsters. As the evening came upon us, the family returned to the hotel for a full schedule of activates. There was more shopping, movies and some enjoyed the night life. Others continued to fellowship at the celebration station or just kicked back for the evening.

Reunion activities on Saturday, July 4 began with the annual business meeting were we continue to discuss ways to improve on this annual event Following the business meeting there were several activities for young and old. Some children were taken to a Emerald Pointe Water Park, a great way to have a fun and cool off on a summer day. Other family members visited the malls and specialty shoppes in search of bargains. The evening concluded with the Family Dinner at the Embassy Suites Ballroom. Later in the evening some family enjoyed the fireworks display in downtown Greensboro.

Worship service at New Light Baptist Church in Greensboro followed with lunch at the home of James and Rose Chance.

Begin making plans early to attend the 36th Lowe Family Reunion in Georgia during the weekend of July 2-4, 1999, and join in the fun.
