Eddie Louis Lowe, Sr. was born August 14, 1940, in Washington, DC to the late Lonnie and Vietta Whitehurst Lowe.  He was a graduate of Phelps Vocational High School Class of 1957, and attended the New Image Baptist Church in Washington, DC.  On Wednesday, July 11, 2001, Eddie passed away at Greater Southeast Hospital in Washington, DC.

Eddie was employed at the A&P Food Store (now known as "Super Fresh"), his first job, where he remained loyal for over forty years until his retirement.  He received numerous awards for the service and dedication he showed throughout the years for a job well done. After retirement, Eddie lived his life to the fullest enjoying fishing, bowling, and watching football, basketball, and baseball games. Lowe, Jr.; five grandchildren whom he adored: Daphne and Larry Martin, Dominiqua Eldridge, Lauryn and Carrington Lowe; one daughter-in-law, Stacey McDonald-Lowe; five sisters:   Doris London, Viola (John) Washington, Beatrice (Samuel) Porter, Wendy, and Karen Lowe; five brothers:  Lonnie (Dareather), Earl (Hazel), Kenneth, Michael, and Richard Lowe; three aunts:  Mrs. Minnie Chance, Mrs. Lurleen Williams, and Mrs. Olivia Knox; three sisters-in-law:  Mary (Willie) Means, Lesia (Theodore) Mathis, and Cynthia Landrum; three brothers-in-law:  Willie D (Mae Francis), Tommy (Jennifer), and Lee Sarratt; and a host of other relatives and friends.
