Minnie Lowe Chance, a resident of Martin County, North Carolina, passed from this life on Wednesday, August 4, 2004, following a brief illness. She was born on February 3, 1920 in Cataula, Georgia to the late Lonnie and Lula Lowe. She was one of twelve children, all of whom preceded her in death.
Her early years were spent in Columbus, Georgia, and she later moved with her family to Bethel, North Carolina. On November 2, 1941, she married the late James Arthur Chance. Together, they established a loving home and were blessed with five children, James Edward, Patricia, Frederick, Joyce, and Sallie.
Minnie was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, who enjoyed spending special time with all of her family so much that she and her husband hosted the first of many Lowe Family Reunions. During these times, her relatives and friends always looked forward to her famous sweet potato pies and homemade cakes.
Minnie was a dedicated lifetime member of Medley Chapel C.M.E. Church. She lovingly supported the work of the ministry by serving as a member of the Senior Choir, Stewardess Board, Trustee Board, and Class Leader I.
