The Lord is my Shepherd

I shall not want

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want;
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters;
He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
for His Name's sake.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil;
for Thou art with me;
Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
Thou anointest my head with oil,
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life;
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. (Psalm 23)

The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want

I am the good shepherd; I know My own and My own know Me and I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep.
(John 10;14-15)

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish, and no one shall snatch them out of My hand. (John 10;27-29)

For thus says the Lord God: Behold, I , I Myself will search for My sheep, and will seek them out. As a shepherd seeks out his flock when some of his sheep have been scattered abroad, so will i seek out My sheep; and I will rescue them from the places where they have been scattered on a day of clouds and thick darkness. (Ezekiel 34;11-12)

He will feed His flock like a shepherd, He will gather the lambs in His arms, he will carry them in His bosom, and gently lead those that are with young. (Isaiah 40;11)

He makes me lie down in green pastures

I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep, and I will make them lie down, says the Lord God. I will seek the lost, and I will bring back the strayed, and I will bind up the crippled, and I will strengthen the weak, and the fat and the strong I will watch over; I will feed them in justice. (Ezekiel 34;15-16)

He leads me beside still waters; He restores my soul

For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and He will guide them to the springs of living water; and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. (Revelation 7;17)

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. (Isaiah 53;6)

He leads me in paths of righteousness for His Name's sake

I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek Thy servant, for I do not forget thy commandments. (Psalm 119;176)

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil

Because you have made the Lord your refuge, the Most High your habitation, no evil shall befall you, no scourge come near your tent. For He will give His angels charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. On their hands they will bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone. (Psalm 91;9-12)

For Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me

Jesus answered him, "If a man loves Me he will keep My word, and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him." (John 14;23)

Do not let not your hearts be troubled; trust in God, trust also in Me. (John 14;1 NIV)

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of my enemies

Ho, every one who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labour for that which does not satisfy? Harken diligently to Me, and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in fatness. Incline your ear, and come to Me; hear, that your soul may live; and I will make with you an everlasting covenant, my steadfast, sure love for David. (Isaiah 55; 1-3)

On this mountain the Lord of hosts will make for all peoples a feast of fat things, a feast of wine on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wine on the lees well refined. And He will destroy on this mountain the covering that is cast over all peoples, the veil that is spread over all nations. He will swallow up death for ever, and the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces, and the reproach of His people He will take away from all the earth; for the Lord has spoken. (Isaiah 25; 6-8)

In My Father's house there are many rooms; if it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And when I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you to Myself, that where I am you may be also. (John 14; 2-3)

Thou anointest my head with oil, my cup overflows

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me because the Lord has anointed me to bring good tidings to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaime the year of the Lord's favour, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; to grant to those who mourn in Zion - to give them a garland instead of ashes the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified. (Isaiah 61; 1-3)

Give, and it will be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put in your lap. For the measure you give will be the measure you get back. (Luke 6; 38)

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life

I believe that I shall see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living! Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; yes, wait for the Lord! (Psalm 27; 13-14)

Trust in the Lord, and do good; so you will dwell in the land, and enjoy security. Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him and He will act. (Psalm 37; 3-5)

And I shall dwell in the house of the Lord for ever

One thing I have asked of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire at His temple. (Psalm 27; 4)

In my Father's house there are many rooms; if it were not so, would I have told you that I go and prepare a place for you? (John 14; 2)
