The Most Important Decision You'll Ever Make

The most important decision you'll ever make in your life is deciding where you'll go after you die. If you are not 100% sure that if you died today you'll go to Heaven, the following verses from the Bible will show you how you can KNOW for sure.

First of all, the Bible says in I John 5:13,

"These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God."

The Bible is very clear that you can know for sure if you have a home in Heaven.

First of all, you need to know that there is no one is "good" -- the Bible says in Romans 3:10,

"As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one."

You also need to know that everyone is a sinner. The Bible says in Romans 3:23,

"For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."

This means that everybody is a sinner. It only takes one sin to become a sinner. A sin is anything that "falls short" of God's glory; for example, lying, cheating, stealing, committing adultery, showing disrespect to your parents or your teachers . . . I'm sure you can think of more. Every one who has ever lived has sinned (except for Jesus) and that makes them a sinner.

You also need to know that there is a payment for sin. The Bible says in Romans 6:23,

"For the wages of sin is death;"

This means that because of our sin, we deserve to go to Hell when we die. When the Bible talks about "death" it is usually talking about the "second death" which is burning in Hell for ever and ever. In Revelation 20:14, it talks about Hell:

"And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death."

BUT God does not want you to go to Hell when you die! He loves you so much that He provided a way out for you so that you don't have to go to Hell. The Bible says in Romans 6:23,

". . . but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

Eternal life is a gift from God! This means that there's nothing you have to do to "earn" your way to Heaven. In fact, the Bible says in Ephesians 2:8,9,

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."

The only thing you have to do to receive your gift of eternal life is to do what it says in Romans 10:13,

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved."

When I was 11 years old, I put my name there in the place of "whosever" to make it read: For Ava shall call upon the LORD [and Ava] shall be saved.

You could do the same thing. All you have to do to "call upon the name of the LORD" is to pray to God and ask Him to give you His free gift of salvation. You might pray something like this:

Dear Heavenly Father,

I know I'm a sinner and I deserve to die and go to Hell. I believe you sent your son Jesus to die on the cross to save me from my sins. Please forgive me of my sins, come into my heart and save me, and take me home to Heaven one day when I die. Thank you for your gift of salvation.

In Jesus' name I pray, Amen

If you just called upon the name of the LORD and asked Him to save you then you can be assured that you are saved forever and ever!

So.....now, according to the Bible, if you were to die today, where would you go?

HeavenHell
That's terrific! I look forward to meeting you one day in Heaven!

If you got saved, I would love to know about it. Please email me at avagunn@writeme.com.

I'm sorry to hear that you've rejected Jesus Christ as your Saviour. I pray that you will one day repent and accept His free gift of eternal life.

What now? If you just got saved then the next thing you need to do is get baptized. You've already been saved so baptism will not save you.

Baptism is a symbol just like wearing a wedding ring is a symbol. If you are married and wear a wedding ring, it lets other people know that you are married and that you are not ashamed of being married. Even if you choose not to wear your ring, you are still married. In the same way, when you get baptized, it lets other people know that you have been saved and are not ashamed of being a Christian.

Jesus desires that you obey Him by getting baptized. If you do not already go to church, find yourself a good Bible-believing church and get baptized.

You should also go to church faithfully and hear the preaching of God's Word by a preacher who preaches God's Word without compromise. Also, you should read your Bible and pray daily and find out what God's will for your life is.

If I can help you in any way, please don't hesitate to email me at avagunn@writeme.com.
