The Bunny Hop

Today, August 30th/99. Wow, I've been way too busy to keep this page updated, but I finally got another picture to add. Luvvy is a whole year old now and she's still as special as ever! :)

Today, August 26, 1998, I got myself the most adorable little Dwarf Lop-eared Bunny! This little bunny is such a sweet addition to our home. I haven't fully decided on her name yet, as soon as I do, it'll be posted, right along with as many pics of her as I can get!! Stay tuned for more! *smile*

August 27th..here's her first photos! Thank goodness for 1hr Photo Shops! Click to see a larger photo. Don't expect it to be too large! She's pretty tiny!

I was concerned about Luvvy nipping me, but I think I've figured out why. She hadn't done it in the first few days, then after 3 days of being here, she started. I'd get frustrated with her, and figured every time she does this, I will put her to bed, then maybe if I continue on this pattern, she will figure out for herself what she has done wrong. Plus I would scold her. This worked for a bit, until her stubborn streak set in. Anyhow..seems if she has her mind set on doing something, and I prevent it, then she'll nip. She likes to piddle in areas, so of course, when she goes to these places, I pick her up and redirect her. This is when she nips me. Glad I figured that one out. *smile*
Luvvy did her first jump today, Sept.8/98! Oh, I can see she is growing up on me already. Getting brave and venturing out without me. *sigh*
At least twice a day, usually morning then evening, I let Luvvy out of her cage to run and romp through the house. If I don't, she will scamper through her cage, following my every move, climb the bars on the cage, looking out at me with those adorable eyes, pleading. She thoroughly enjoys the freedom, finding me, wherever I may be, then licking me for about 10-15 minutes (usually my toes) before she ventures off some more.
Normally she listens when I call her name, and comes hopping out to greet me. The times she doesn't listen, I know she is either some place I'd prefer her not to be, or doing something she knows better of!
I found her favorite place to drop her droppings. Hopefully I can break her of this soon!!
I HATE all this vacuuming! LOL Suppose that's a normal feeling for me though! I never realized how much I'd have to vacuum to keep up with all the mess, but I wouldn't trade it if it meant not having Luvvy! All the joy she brings makes it worth while to me. *smile*
Well, so much for what I was told about this bunny when I bought her. I was told she was a dwarf lop-eared bunny and she wouldn't get very big. Hmmmmmm... I took Luvvy to the groomers because her fur was becoming a bit matted, anyhow, while there, the groomer takes one look at Luvvy and says: "My dear. Your bunny is not a little Angora, she is a LOT Angora." I wasn't too concerned about this since I loved my bunny too much by this time, but she felt she owed it to me to warn me as Angoras usually get pretty large. Well, hopefully I'll get some new pictures of Luvvy posted soon so you can see the difference in her size. LOL She's large, but not that large, and still precious as ever! *smile*
