PENNSYLVANIA CLUES

ANOTHER GREAT PENNSYLVANIA WEBSITE IN THE MAKING:

VISIT...GENHOME, the GENealogy and HOMEpage site

The GENHOME Website is designed to be a house. In the foyer is the guestbook, in the kitchen are the round tables where discussions will be held. In the cupboards we have information helps and we are hoping to have an interview or two with authors, publishers, genealogists. The GENHOME library has the lists of names, dates, places--the lists will grow until we run out of space. The Family Room will have family information and maybe a Hall of Fame for favorite ancestors, some homepages we've done, some neat ideas. The Studio will be the place to investigate whether or not you would like to have a homepage. The GENHOME Website is designed for the genealogist and family researcher.

Visit GENHOME

Also, don't miss the **SHIPS' LISTS** (some even have the ages of the passengers)
They are in the LIBRARY at GENHOME.

NOTE: The above numbers seem to only represent the numbers in a ledger. The PENNSYLVANIA ARCHIVES is an effort of the state to compile the records from approximately 1682 to the mid-1800's. It is represented in Series, with each series containing numerous volumes. The original volumes are difficult to find in the state of Pennsylvania. That difficulty makes it important to put the names contained in the ARCHIVES on the WEB for all to see.

Note to YOU:
BOOKS: The information was compiled for me, by me. While working on Lancaster, Chester, and Berks counties. I was constantly checking these lists for information and they weren't alphabetized. One day I just got so tired of searching them that I just did it, I alphabetized them, making a computerized list. They have been used so often that it wasn't a waste of time to do them. They may be useful to YOU. If so, contact me. If not, that's okay, too--just as long as YOU find something about YOUR ANCESTOR. That's where the fun is for me. If you happen to be interested, the books are:

1767 BERKS COUNTY PA ARCHIVES
1784 BERKS COUNTY PA ARCHIVES
1765 CHESTER COUNTY PA ARCHIVES
1771 LANCASTER COUNTY PA ARCHIVES

NOTE ABOUT GEOCITIES:While passing through another homepage on Geocities, I read a note about how wonderful geocities is--How could you help thinking they must have paid him to say that. Now I know, it really is wonderful (wonderful doesn't say it all-- IT IS REALLY GREAT!) So far, they have done what they said they would do. Sure, I had to do some learning and alot of typing; Those who said "THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS A FREE LUNCH" didn't tell us that there is such a thing as "A GENEALOGIST'S FREE BUFFET".

GEOCITIES: If you ever pass through here (and I doubt that you have the time, cause I'm sure you're really busy), THANK YOU.
[This has been an unsolicited, unpaid, unpolitical, unorganized announcement!]
