He names two sons under 18: Samuel and Alexander; a brother-in-law, Hugh Caldwel; a daughter, Elizabeth; a sister, Agnes; & a mother-in-law, unnamed. An inventory of Alexander's goods is dated 1764. A sheriff's sale occurred in 1776 in which, son, Samuells plantation was purchased by a neighbor to satisfy a debt. Samuel may have been away fighting in the War. In 1788, Samuel, a blacksmith, made a will in which he gave his plantation to his son, Samuel, Jr., and also made bequests to his daughters: Jean, Elizabeth Barclay, and Margaret, also mentions a brother-in-law, George McLaughlin. The will of John K., b 1687, m ca 1710, d 1772, of West Nottingham Twp., Chester Co., PA, was filed in 1771. The line from the son, William K., has been traced to a William K. and his sons in Syracuse, NY. This John K., b 1687, has been proposed as a brother of Hugh K., b ca 1750, of Hugh K. of PA (KNL, V.I, #4, JL,AU, SE 1990, pp 12-13), however, this seems unlikely with the wide separation in birth dates. There may be an early family connection because both families were in the same area of Chester Co., PA.
