Blassingame W. Harvey was b. in SC 1792. Lived in Catahoula Parish La and came to San Augustin Co. TX with his father in law, Stephen Prather in 1821. He rec'd a land grant from Zavalla in San Augustin Co. .Both he and Eliza are buried in Wood-Snell cemetery on the banks of the Sam Rayburn Lake, Broaddus, TX. The lake took in many acres of the Harvey grant. Blassingame and Eliza Mary Ann Brunson were m. Sunday 3rd Sept. 1826 Born: William Prather Harvey 15 July 1827 (d. 1865, unmarried was in C/W) Stephen Prather Harvey b. 17, May 1829 (M. Frances Hill dau. of Francis Hill of Angelina Co. Aurora Harvey b. 7 Sept. 1831 (M 1st John R, Alexander, 1850, San Augustin Co. 2nd Antonio Carbello of Liberty Co. TX) Mary Ann Harvey b. 25 Feb. 1833 (M. Joseph O. Snell, both died at Broaddus TX) Alenardo Harvey b. 2 Apr. 1837 d. 20 Sept 1843 aged 6 yrs 5 mos. 22 days (son) Elvira Prather Harvey b. 3 March 1839 (M Elias Hawthorne Wood s/o Joseph and Temperance Davis Wood Nancy d/o Thos. and Elizabeth Walker Prather b. 5 Feb 1839 (Thos. Prather was s/o Stephen Prather) Virginia Harvey b. 27 Dec, 1841 (M. William Daniel of Nagaadoches who lived in Harris Co. after 1870) California b. 4 Aug. 1849 d. 3 Aug 1852 Jane M. Harvey b. June 10 , no death date but she died as a child Blassingame W, Harvey died at his home on Harvey Creek July 22, 1867 Eliza Mary Ann Prather Harvey d. at home 1855 and is buried in family plot Blassingame W. Harvey was a resident of Catahoula Parish Louisiana, enlisted in War of 1812 in 1815. He m. Eliza Ann Prather, thought to be the Widow Brunson, d/o Stephen Prather.

Sketch of Mrs. Mary E. Harvey, c. 1912, Red River County, TexasMrs. Mary E. Harvey, the subject of this sketch, was born in Lawrence County, Mississippi, July 2nd, 1819. She was married to Leroy Harvey in 1838, and moved to Winn Parish, Louisiana in 1847. To this union was born ten children, the father and four of the children have passed away. The remaining six, Tom, Hart, Pearl, George, Dan, and Mrs. Margaret Banister moved to Red River County, four miles south of Annona, near Coleman Springs, in 1871 where she still resides with her son, George. To her have been born fifty grand children and thirty-one great grand children, making a total of one hundred and sixty-two. Grandma Harvey and her relatives are noted for longevity, she having passed her ninety-third birthday July 2, and with the exception of bad eyesight, still retains her vitality remarkably well.
