Well my name is Mike and if you havn't figured it out yet I'm a Paramedic. I've been a medic since 1/93 and although I beef about the B.S. I really love what I do. Currently I work a 24/48. What that means is that I work 24 hours (although we only get paid for 16) and I'm off 48 hours. This schedule has given me a lot of time to become a web junkie. Prior to entering EMS I was a restaurant manager (about 12 years) for such chains as Burger King, Ryans Family Steakhouse, Godfathers Pizza, and Pizza Hut (hey don't laugh, most of these stores handled over a million dollars a year).

I was born and raised in NY in a town called New Hyde Park. Currently I live in a little town in NC called Bostic. It's your basic one sneeze town (sneeze once and you miss it). It's in western NC, technically the foothills. The scenery is great as well as the weather (yes we have four seasons). I don't miss the big city except for the variety of food and culture.

For enjoyment I like to shoot (mostly pistols), rollerblade, ice skate (yea we have ice, you just have to look hard), and of course play on the web.

Wait a minute... what you just read used to be true but is no longer applicable. I worked my way off the road and actually out of EMS (except for teaching). I got involved with computerizing our service, particularly the billing and collections. Now I work for the county Information Resources Management department. I'll elaborate further in the not to distant future.
